HDTC members enjoy doing a wide variety of fun and challenging activities with their dogs. From Therapy visits, to Rally, Obedience, Agility, Nose Work and many other competitions, we keep busy.

Trials & Events
HDTC celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2024 - over seventy years as a non-profit organization teaching both pet and competition obedience classes and dedicated to improving the relationship between dogs and their owners. The club also provides agility, conformation, rally and therapy classes; holds annual obedience, agility, and rally trials; attends community activities; and is involved in therapy and educational visits to nursing homes, hospitals and schools.
Many years ago, we taught classes in local school buildings and in the National Guard Armory, holding classes just one night a week. Now, in our own building, we are holding classes 4 or 5 nights a week and special events on weekends.
HDTC has a large, experienced, volunteer staff of individuals who are dedicated to providing excellent instruction. All of our instructors not only teach others but attend training classes and seminars themselves and train and show their own dogs in obedience, conformation, agility and other performance events.
