Treasured Members of our Past

Picture
The Hamilton Dog Training Club has been fortunate with long-term memberships and participation in the club.  We have been blessed with individuals that extend hard work, dedication, and unforgettable friendships.

They are truly “One of a Kind” that have touched others with their graciousness, knowingness, and commitment in our club.  Our appreciation of each is beyond words as well as our grief.

As a reflection of remembrance to our dear friends and colleagues, we keep these candles burning in their honor.

Light a Candle as a celebration
for an honorary member.

Your donation of light will be used to reflect their enthusiasm for training others to train their dogs.

                        Kathy Smith

An avid dog lover, Kathy was a long-time member of the Hamilton Dog Training Club. She enjoyed attending and participating in many dog shows and became an instructor for the club. She loved baking cookies and brownies, the Cincinnati Reds, and working all kinds of puzzles, especially Sudoku.
In memory of long time HDTC member Helen O'Donohoe.

Helen was instrumental in the formation of HDTC.   Helen's passion was training dogs, teaching others how to train their dogs, as well as showing her own dogs.

Helen's dog, Black Chad, was the 1st dog of HDTC to earn the Obedience Trial Champion (OTCH) title!   Helen served the club in many ways --- past President and Board Member, Trainer, Behavior Specialist, Registrar --- just to name a few positions.

Helen was always there to offer her support and to share her knowledge.

Her helpful nature will always be remembered.

Dominique Mercurio

Dominique's love was working and training dogs, especially Norwegian Elkhounds.  She was fortunate to experience success with training and earned numerous national titles.

She served as a board member for the Norwegian Elkhound Association of America. Over the years she was active with many local dog clubs including Queen City Dog Club, was an instructor at the Hamilton Dog Club, and a member of the UKC Fort Hamilton Dog Club.

Numerous lifelong friendships have been formed through the dog club community. She will be greatly missed.

Valerie Purvis

Valerie Purvis was one of the first faces to be seen as an instructor at the HDTC during the puppy & Level 1 class.  Her kind smile always made you feel welcomed and eager to learn.

Val served the club in many ways, she was a dedicated member that we could always count on.  She was one that would lend her expertise of knowledge to the newcomers of the club.

Many will remember her soft spoken voice and her love of the animals she touched in a positive light.  She is and will be greatly missed from our club.
